"Since working out with GetMooreFitness, my biggest health/fitness achievement has been my overall feeling of pride in my daily practice of regular exercise and healthy living. When I first started working out with Nicole I had to make myself show up. I would try to think of some excuse to get out of it. When my husband Kent and I could only work out on Wednesdays/Fridays, I was even more ready to give up. My Friday nights working out used to be my Happy Hour! I was grumpy about having to give that up!  But after awhile, I started to feel better and then actually started to look forward to coming. Now, I'm addicted! I can't miss one day and I haven't for as long as I can remember. Before working out with GetMooreFitness, you never would have caught me jumping rope 500 times in 15 minutes.Wow, I can't believe I ever was a workout flunky!

"My original goal when I first started with GetMooreFitness was to not look like a stuffed sausage at my girlfriend's wedding. I attained this goal because I realized I really enjoyed working out and losing weight was just an added bonus, I decided to continue working out with Barry three times a week. I liked the way my clothes fit, slept better at night, and not longer felt sluggish during the day...One of my personal aspirations was to run a half-marathon before age 50. Over time, that objective appeared to be unattainable. After mentioning this goal to Barry, he helped me prepare for the Long Beach Half Marathon. Running that race was emotional for me, and the most awesome feeling that cannot be described. The lesson learned is that with hard work, determination, and perserverance, anything is possible...I have Barry and GetMooreFitness to thank for that."

"2006 was a great year for me...Nicole told me I am an athlete, and I proved it by doing the AIDS ride (585 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles), and a mini-triathlon. It is such a big achievement to start something, train for it, and complete it. I have learned that my physical health is directly connected to my mental health...My self-esteem and self-confidence have increased since working out with "The Better Half" and this continues to touch every part of my life. For 2007, my goals are to lose 10 more pounds, improve my running time...and to complete the Camp Pendleton
Mud Run (June 16th).

"I started my journey with GetMooreFitness as a "sub" in The Better Half class, replacing my god-sister who was on vacation. At the time, I was looking for a challenge and was stuck on my highest weight of 180. Prior to this weight, I was 220 by the time my 2-year old was born, and had managed to drop 40 pounds. However, I was stuck. My first day in Nicole's class, I knew I met my challenge- we did a circuit of 4 sets of squats, lunges, arms, and abs! And I got through it! As time went on, I would listen and study Nicole, as she would emphasize proper eating and making healthy choices-"What you put in your mouth is what you get out of your body." I incorporated this knowledge, and after only 90 days, my husband, co-workers, and friends noticed the results and how my body had transformed. I got compliments, which I had never had. I also shocked my husband and myself by getting back into  my wedding dress, and looking better in it than on my wedding day...But that's not all; GetMooreFitness helped me make another dream come true. I used to dream about running, and Nicole started our group out with 3 miles of walking/running. I got the "fever" for running, and built myself up from 3 to 13 miles in just 3 months. On January 7, 2007, I  ran my first half-marathon (OC Marathon) in a little over 3 hours. For 2007, my goals are to reduce my body fat, build more muscle mass, and to improve my time for the next marathon event (Camp Pendleton Mud Run, June, 2007). Nicole has told me that I'm her poster child when it comes to a commitment to reaching my fitness goals. My biggest motivation and incentive to keep this going is to look and feel good each day, and to be a role model to my family."

"For 2007, my fitness goals are to lose more body fat and increase my endurance. The most significant change I have made toward my health has been an increase in my energy level...I am a happier person. Running an entire half marathon (OC Marathon, January 7th) was my most memorable moment and personal breakthrough. When I finished the race, it meant a lot to me when Barry and Nicole told me that they were proud of me...I never thought I could run, let alone run 13.2 miles! Working out with GetMooreFitness has helped me learn how strong my will is when I put my mind to it. It has helped me lose weight, become more aware of what I eat and how it affects my body...I may not be a size 2, but I am strong and can run further than most people I know...I used to workout because I HAD to, now I workout because I WANT to!
